Geschke in Grams
When you talk about Simon Geschke, you talk about his Grinta — and his perfectly kept beard. There is just no way around it. The bearded rider is a valuable member of Team Sunweb, as he has been from the very start of his career. He calls the team his family. They, in turn, praise him for his positive vibes. Behind the beard hides a permanent grin. In the offseason Simon rides a vintage BMW convertible and listens to Motörhead. We recognize style when we see it and skimmed through Instagram to select our favorite Geschke Grams.
CYCLING ENIGMA GESCHKE
Simon plays a key role in his team mates’ wins, even when you don’t see him in action.

REST DAY ANTICS
Just hanging out before the ride, as you do. Rest day is rest day after all, sort of.
Etxeondo has a heritage firmly rooted in performance cycling, having sponsored some of the best pro teams in the history of the sport such as Reynolds, Banesto, KAS and ONCE and worked closely with great riders such as Delgado, Kelly, Indurain, Ullrich, Vinokourov, Contador, Kittel, Degenkolb and Dumoulin. Etxeondo is one of the few brands that design and produce all of their garments in their own facilities, located in the Basque Country.
The team behind Etxeondo’s premium cycling wear are as much the perfectionists as Geschke is. Etxeondo has been supporting Team Sunweb for 4 years now, closely working together with the riders to innovate and improve with every new design.
TEAM SUNWEB — DOUBLE WIN
It’s étape 14 of the 2017 Tour de France and Aussie Bling Matthews just won the stage. The day before, on Bastille day, Matthews’ French roomie Warren Barguil claimed the victory. It sure is turning out to be Team Sunweb’s year.
The beard is his trademark. “I get a lot more recognition because of the beard. People remember me because of it.” Even his parents are quite pleased with this facial hair because it makes their son that much easier to spot in the bunch.
Geschke’s well coiffed facial hair has become so marketable, he decided to become the man behind a new hair product aptly called Geschke’s Beard Balm.
Found an awesome spot with a bunch of great Colombians 🇨🇴 and Dutch 🇳🇱 fans! Bunkered here to 📸 on Stage 20 just after the Notre Dame climb of the TT and riders tip it in hard on the off camber corner going downhill with 3 crashes (incl. Henao) thru out the day and many near misses! @simongeschke slow mo thru “tip it in” corner 🚴🏼 #tourdefrance . . . . #teamsunweb | #procycling | #peloton | #cyclist | #bici | #instabike | #igerscycling | #instacycling | #bicicletas | #letour | #wymtm | #cycling | #cyclinglife | #tdf2017 | #roadcycling | #timetrial | #outsideisfree | #tdf | #rideon | #cyclingshots | #giantbikes | #cyclingphoto | #maillotjaune | #roadbike | #roadbike | #slowmo | #ridelife | #marseille

In his spare time Simon listens to Motörhead and bands like Bad Company, British 80’s hardrock. He loves pizza and kebab, and calls himself a passionate motorcycle rider. Looks good on you Simon.
In the 2015 TdF, Geschke claimed stage 17 with a daring solo breakaway that earned him his first Tour stage win. His finest moment in cycling so far. “What an incredible day! Think i’ll need a couple of decades to let it sink in!”
“If I hadn’t become a professional cyclist I would have studied psychology. Or trained to become a pilot, both fascinated me. But which one (or either one) it would have been, I have no idea.” Simon Geschke was born in Berlin on the 13th of March 1986 and has been a professional cyclist since 2009. He joined Team Sunweb in the same year.
